Conducted by OnePoll on behalf of the Maytag brand, the survey also revealed that pets are often at their owners’ side, even while they are cooking (38%), getting ready for bed (37%) or exercising (35%).

Many are so close to their pet that they keep their reaction in mind when making changes in their lives, including decisions about moving house (27%), buying furniture (33%) or buying a home with a garden (32%). Almost half of the respondents (45%) said their pet sleeps in bed with them. Most pet owners, however, agree that although they love having them near, their fur becomes a problem (59%).
