A woman wading through knee-deep water in Manchester towards rescue a tiny dog. Desperate to have lost Violet, a Dachshund dog, during a walk in a park in Greater Manchester, England, Alfiya Mohamedbhai gave no rest: she walked 100 kilometres in four days to find her puppy. Only the power of love drove this young woman on until her joy exploded: she finally hugged her furry puppy again.
In the long and arduous search, there was no shortage of moments of despair: “At one point, I had completely lost faith in finding her. I thought someone had stolen her,” said Alfiya.
For her mission, the young woman enlisted the help of her friend, Madeleine Fitzgerald: she started searching for the dog by following the tracking device implanted in Violet’s collar, but the connection fell apart shortly afterwards.
The two continued the search for another four days, covering about 100 kilometres. And when they were giving up hope, the tracking Apple AirTag reconnected and redirected the pair into the river. They found the dog sitting not far away as if nothing had happened.

The relieved mother of one says she’s been left with blisters after clocking up around 62 miles in four days hunting her beloved Dachshund dog.
Ms Mohamedbhai, from Burnage, said: “I couldn’t stop crying. It was unbelievable. I’d completely lost faith in finding her. I thought someone had stolen her.“
“We sound like we’re dying on the video, but I put my jumper on her, and she was magnificent. She was crying with excitement.“
“The house has been empty and quiet, and we’ve missed her annoying bark. She’s not even an exploding dog and hates going on walks.“
”On Friday, the tag said she’d wandered to a dual carriageway, but there were no sightings after that.“
”I lost hope Yesterday because my body was sore and hardly slept. I’m exhausted. Every single bone in my body is aching. I’ve got blisters on my feet.“
”Yesterday, I tried the app again, and for the first time, we got a location. So we took some paracetamol and went there.“

Now Violet’s safely at home.
Ms. Mohamedbhai said Violet goes on walks in Reddish Vale Country Park daily and knows it well, so perhaps the dog knew how to return there after her adventures.
She desperately contacted Greater Manchester Police and independent dog finders to help find her; however, by yesterday morning, she had given up looking in the park.
Devastated, Ms Mohamedbhai and her friend Ms Fitzgerald began handing out posters. In the afternoon, her sister urged her to check the Apple AirTag app a final time, and it reconnected to Violet.
Now Violet’s safely home, and the relieved owner said she’d love to know what the puppy got up to while she was missing and where she went because she was constantly checking the park.
She says vets have called it a ‘miracle‘ that she wasn’t harmed, and they’ve confirmed she still has a clean bill of health.
