Tayson, the dog

TAYSON, my faithful dog, 16 years old, came into my bed one day while I was sleeping around 1 am and tried to wake me up by pawing me, but without barking. I never imagined it was because burglars were robbing my house. Tayson warned me in good time. Let’s take care of our pets and not mistreat them. Source: Kenned Catin Kc

I moved at the beginning because my family did not accept my Canelita. They told me to give her up for adoption or abandon her on the street, which was unthinkable, but we formed an indescribable bond from the first time we met.

We went from house to house until we finally had our little house and lived happily. We are both soul mates and protect each other to the death. He understands me more than you can believe. She curls up beside me when I am sad and licks my tears.

When I am delighted, he also dances with me. And more. We both promised to be together until the end of our lives. I will always care for and love her until life wills it, and so will she with me. Canelita… My beautiful daughter.

Zeus, The Cat

My cat Zeus left home one day and never came back. I waited for him for weeks but nothing. Finally, one day, they phoned me and asked if I had a cat called Zeus. I answered yes, but he had disappeared from home some time ago.

He was here, and they returned him to me; he was exhausted, all skinny, eyes sunken in, but when I went to get him back, he calmed down immediately. So, we were no longer separated; we still lived happily together.

The courage of an owner

Once, I was in the park taking a walk with my dog, always on a leash. At that moment, a pit bull was walking without a leash and ran towards us, intending to attack my dog.

Without thinking, I got in front of her and confronted the other dog, kept it away until its irresponsible owner arrived, and they left. Of course, none of us was hurt, but only a few minutes later did I realise what I had done, risking so much! Source: Helen Vasquez Letona

The “Bratty” Chow Chow!

My black Chow Chow Fido used to kill all the birds he saw when he went out in the garden. One day, he didn’t want to leave the house any more, and when I sent him outside, he started shaking with fear. It had happened that every time he went out in the garden, the birds, in revenge, pecked his head off. Source: Bernarda Cazón.

A dog with a sixth sense

It happened a long time ago. My dog is an artificially bred sheepdog from the time of his life. When he was growing up, one day, there was a knock on the door; it was a pedlar.

He sat down in front of the man and started growling at him, and I had never seen him like that. The man began to back away and attacked him. There, amid all the commotion, the man dropped a well-hidden weapon from his pocket. There, I realised that the man was a malingerer. Wherever you are in heaven with God, I will never forget you, my beautiful hairy one—source: Bea Gangone.

A changing husband… of love.

When my cat Lola arrived at the beginning of quarantine, I told myself I would keep her with me. But I still hadn’t said anything to my husband, and I hadn’t asked his permission.

But when I mentioned it to him, he immediately exclaimed that she shouldn’t be on his bed; the next day, she was on my husband’s bed, and I won him over immediately; now, he always spoils her and buys him everything.

Blacky, the dog that wouldn’t move

One day my dog called Blacky followed me to the shop where I always went. I was returning to my house, and in a hurry, I called him several times, but he didn’t want to know and was always standing in the same spot.

Indisposed, I returned to scold him and was shocked to ‘see that he had in his mouth’ the new mobile phone my boyfriend had bought me. It had fallen out of my pocket. Well, I cried from emotion and couldn’t hold back the tears. And as a mother, I “felt so proud of him.” Source: Adriana Carbajal.

Sofi, the little dog doctor.

One day, my dog Sofi suddenly started licking my paw insistently. Every time I sat down somewhere, she would come closer and start sniffing and licking my paw; it seemed strange to me because it was something I never did, and suddenly, she started doing it more often, but at first, I didn’t pay more attention to this behaviour.

They say dogs can detect diseases, but I didn’t pay any more attention to that; I thought he was doing it to show me his affection. I started to feel a slight pain in the heel of my left foot, which, as the days went by, spread to my whole leg until it reached my spine. The situation worsened until one day, I couldn’t stand up anymore. That’s how I was taken to the doctor, and there they detected a problem with my sciatic nerve.

He had already detected the problem, but I didn’t pay much attention to it; if only I had thought he was trying to tell me something, I would have been able to detect it in time, and it wouldn’t be so complicated now. But, instead, my little girl tried to tell me something, and I didn’t understand. Source: Erick Spielberg.

The naughty dog for love.

One day, I was watching ‘MARLEY AND ME‘ on television, and I never imagined the amount of crying this film would provoke in me.

My beloved dog saw how her mother was consumed in a sea of tears and began to console me in her way. She wagged her tail, gave me little kisses, and nothing worked, eventually peed on my bed….and well, I stopped crying because the anger I had got the better of my tears!

Well, there I realised the nobility of his heart, that he cared so much about me and the anguish my state of mind caused him, that he urinated in my bed to stop me crying. I loSo ve her with all my being.

Horus! The hero dog.

Horus! When I was a 7-month-old puppy, he ‘smelled’ with his wonderful sense of smell. The house had a gas leak; we were alone, and I was sound asleep. I don’t think I could have heard the alarm clock either, but this angel did everything he could to wake me up; he jumped on me, licked my face and finally bit my hand hard.

I woke up suddenly, all dazed and very angry. I followed him into the kitchen, where he ran off to scold me; there, I noticed him circling our gas stove and immediately guessed that there was a substantial gas leak. Everything went well, thanks to him waking me up in time in his way.

Unfortunately, he died when he turned nine months old, and an evil and heartless person fed him poison. I miss him; I owe him my life; two years have passed, and the absence of my little one still hurts me.

A very loving Chihuahua.

My daughter had a baby, and when we got home, my Chihuahua grabbed one of her toys and started crying. We didn’t know what was wrong with her until I picked her up, put her close to the baby, and gave him her toy as a sign of welcome, and he calmed down. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen—source: Reyna Chan.

A very protective dog towards his beloved master.

I have a golden retriever/ black double-breasted shepherd. My dog is still alive (13 years old). On one occasion, I had the nasty flu with a lot of muscle pain, and my daughter started to massage me; of course, I started complaining. My dog came running and put his whole body on me and didn’t let my daughter continue to give me the massage anymore. To this day, he always accompanies me. He is my faithful companion. I love him like a son! Source: Carmina Came.

Not a perfect trio!

While cooking, the back door opened one day, and I heard a commotion. So I got closer to see what was happening and saw a little mouse running behind him, a kitten. Behind him again was my dog; the three of them were running over my feet, and the mouse managed to escape while the cat and the dog crashed against the wall, breaking everything in their path. I no longer forget that funny scene.…haha! Source: Veronica Zeballos.

a puppy like a little angel

My little dog once came to tell me that my mother’s oxygen mask had come off. How could I not love this little creature? Even when my mother died months later, he was sitting at the window when the coffin passed by to give her a final farewell; he was always by my side, even in the most challenging moments, like a little angel.

A poodle as good as a baby

I had a poodle named Slady. I had to travel with her on the bus one day, but they hadn’t accepted dogs before. I wrapped her up in a baby blanket, hugged her like a baby, and told her to stay still and not to move or bark; when I got on the bus, the policeman asked me if there was a baby in the bag (necessaire) I was carrying, and I said yes. I sat in my seat, and for 5 hours, she was reticent. She understood everything I said to her and went unnoticed for the whole journey! Source: Maria Ofelia Meza Castillo.

A dog doctor

One day, I was choking on my saliva, and my dog Fergie climbed on my back and jumped up and down to hit me so that I could breathe. Thank God my son came and helped me. At that moment, I realised how much my dog loved me. Source: Paty Rodríguez.

A mama cat

My cat’s name was Rubio, and suddenly, he was watching me all day long. When I told my mother (who worked in a laboratory), she told me to take a pregnancy test, and that was it; I was pregnant. My cat spent the whole pregnancy on his belly, purring at the future unborn child—source: Isa Morales.

A saviour cat.

One day, while I was sleeping, around 10 am, I fainted (diabetes problems). Then, in my limbo to the afterlife, I heard a loud thud in my chest and another.

Then I felt an intense pain like two needles stuck next to each other in my right thigh, and it was so painful that I opened my eyes and jumped up and down…. confused… dazed…

I gradually regained consciousness; my children and mother, who were in other rooms of the house, did not realise what had happened. Finally, Finally, Finally, Finally, Finally, I sat up on the bed and began to realise what had happened: my red cat named Sora jumped twice from the window onto my chest to revive me, but failing to do so, she decided to bite me by sticking her affiliated fangs through the sheet and proceeding to dig as hard as she could into my thigh until she managed to revive me. I owe my life to this beloved feline. How could I not love, cuddle and care for him?
